About Hearth Swap

Hearth Swap is the one chamber where a decision of yours changes the result directly. The gems drop at random, six kinds of them, rarest first: Ruby Flame, Sapphire Square, Emerald Hex, Topaz Sun, Amethyst Point and Moonstone Crescent. Then the board waits for you.

You may swap any two gems that sit side by side, across or up and down, but not corner to corner. You get one swap a round, and you can undo it and try another before you settle. Or you can settle the board exactly as it fell.

When you settle, every straight run of three or more of the same gem pays, in each of the five rows and each of the five columns. A gem can count twice when it sits in a row run and a column run at the same time. The rarer the gem and the longer the run, the more it brings back.

If you would rather not hunt, Show the best swap marks the pair that pays the most. The return of this chamber assumes you use the best swap every round; picking at random brings back less.

How to play

  1. Pick a stake from 5 to 200 glints and press Drop the gems.
  2. Pick a gem, then one of its four neighbours, to swap them. Undo the swap if you change your mind.
  3. Show the best swap marks the pair worth the most, if any swap beats the board as it fell.
  4. Press Settle the board. Every run of three or more in a row or a column pays, and the runs light up.

Pay table

Every figure is what comes back for one glint staked; multiply by your stake. Each run pays on its own, so a board with two runs pays both. The numbers come straight from the data file the game itself reads.

Where to stop

Nearly every board pays something, and nearly all of those pay less than the stake. That rhythm feels like winning while it adds up to slowly giving back. Set a round limit before you start, and keep it.

Fair play

Your browser's built-in randomness settles each outcome the instant you press the button. Nothing is tuned to your glints, your history, the hour or the length of your session, and the chamber has no idea who you are. Across many rounds every chamber returns somewhat less than it takes in, which is how games of chance are built. Glints are worth nothing in money, so nothing real changes hands either way.

No round is ever bought: every chamber is free, glints cannot be purchased, and a free rekindle to 2,000 glints is there whenever you drop below 40. Playing or success here does not imply future success at real-money gambling.
